Majors Braves hand Giants an 8-1 defeat
The Lincoln Little League Majors Braves came calling on the Giants and delivered an 8-1 winning message Tuesday.
The Braves’ Cole Cavarra pitched four hitless innings striking out 10 and giving up three base-on-balls. Harry Rounds came on in relief and surrendered a run but the game was already out of reach. Rounds had six Ks.
Cavarra also scored two runs in the contest but the hitting was led by Michael Newsom. Newsom was 2-3 with a run batted in and he also scored.
Clayton Coats also scored two runs and had an RBI.
The Giants’ Jacob Lemus provided the home club’s only run on an RBI by Austin Ratliff.
Jack Corriveau started on the mound for the Bay Area nine and was relieved by Dylan Thieman. Lemus closed out the game.
