The Lincoln Police Department is working in conjunction with the state of California Alcoholic Beverage Control to combat alcohol-related violations in the south Placer County Area. The department was awarded a grant from the Alcoholic Beverage Control to conduct various types of operations for the 2008-09 fiscal year. On Sept. 19, officers from the Rocklin, Roseville and Lincoln police departments worked with investigators from the Alcoholic Beverage Control and conducted Shoulder Tap operations in Rocklin and Lincoln, targeting people who bought alcoholic beverages for known minors in front of businesses. In Lincoln, Lincoln Police conducted the operation at two separate locations. A minor approached 40 individuals and asked them to purchase alcohol em. Two adults agreed to purchase the minor alcohol and were each cited for furnishing alcohol to a person younger than 21. A 20-year-old was cited for using a false identification to purchase alcoholic beverages and possession of alcoholic beverages by a person younger than 21. These operations will continue each month throughout the fiscal year.
