Well, we made it!
We are off to Carnegie Hall a second time this Thursday! Thank you again for all of your encouragement and support. Look for us on Tuesday morning (April 9) on the NBC “Today Show.” We will be outside the studio with signs, songs and smiles!
Also District Choral Day is coming up on April 18.
District Choral Day is the delightful coming together of every choir in our district. All elementary and middle schools and the high school as well. This is an outstanding concert celebrating the 400-plus students who sing in our district.
Thank you to all administrators and superintendants who have fought to keep music - especially singing - in our schools. The featured song, “For the Sake of Our Children,” by Jeffrey Ames will be performed by the students who are singing it at Carnegie Hall. If you get a chance to hear it on YouTube, you will get a taste of what a special concert this is going to be!
LHS Choral Spring Concert is coming on May 16.
This is our spring concert - the culmination of all music we have studied and perfected this year. We will include songs that earned us the Command Performance Award in the Wheatland music festival, as well as music to be performed at Carnegie Hall. This is a very special group of young people who possess talent and a ceaseless work ethic. There are 13 seniors in advanced choir, several of whom have been in choir for four years. I can promise this concert will knock your socks off!
