With a 66-60 defeat at the hands of visiting Rio Americano, the Lincoln varsity basketball team was eliminated Wednesday night from the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division III playoffs.

The fifth-seeded Fighting Zebras opened the SJS D-III bracket against the No. 13 seed Raiders from the Capital Athletic League.

Marcus Salgado and Alexis Gonzales led the Zebras with 16 points a piece. Adam Felt scored 12.

With a lead at the end of the first period, Lincoln was unable to keep up the momentum as Rio Americano used a 15-5 run to end the half.

The Zebras made it interesting, cutting an early 10-point deficit at the start of the final period, to just four with under two minutes to play. But the clock ultimately played against Lincoln, as the Zebras dropped their third-straight game to end their season.
