Lincoln High’s varsity girls soccer team closed the first half of the Pioneer Valley League season at 0-5-1. The Zebras (5-10-4 overall) lost 3-1 at Placer on Friday in the final match of the first half of league play. Lincoln junior Mariel Iniguez scored in the second half against Placer. The Hillmen outscored Lincoln 2-1 in the second half. Lincoln also lost 1-0 at Mesa Verde two days earlier as the Mavericks scored a first-half goal. The Zebras were supposed to open the second half of the season on Monday at Whitney but that match was postponed because of bad field conditions. Lincoln will now play at Whitney at 4 p.m. Friday. The Zebras will continue league play at Bear River at 4 p.m. Monday and at Colfax at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
