In a game between Highway 65 rivals, it was Marysville who came out on top. The Indians defeated the Fighting Zebras on Lincoln’s home field Friday night, 6-2.

Avery Little pitched the entire game for the Zebras. She allowed four earned runs while fanning six batters. Between the second and third innings, the sophomore struck out four-straight batters.

Alexis Bleichwehl gave Lincoln their only runs in the game. In the fourth inning, the sophomore drove in a pair of Zebras’ on a single to right field.

An inning after Lincoln managed to tie the game on Bleichwehl’s single, the Indians regained their lead with a three-run fifth inning.

Lincoln now stands with a record of 0-2 on the young season and will have to wait 11 days to rebound from Friday’s loss when the Antelope Titans (0-2) come to town March 12.
