Lincoln Showcase this Saturday

Lincoln residents can let loose this Saturday night and partake in food, drinks and dancing. The Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 10th annual Lincoln Showcase, which helps fund the organization’s activities throughout the year. “‘Showcase’ is a sampling of foods, wines, beers and other beverages from South Placer County,” said Terri Reeves, the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce’s membership and events coordinator. Lincoln Showcase will take place at Beermann Plaza for a good reason. “Beermann Plaza is the heart of Lincoln and a perfect place for a great party under the stars,” Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Bob Romness said. Since it is the 10th anniversary for the event, Reeves said this year’s Lincoln Showcase theme is diamonds, which aligns with giving a spouse diamonds for a 10th wedding anniversary. Reeves said vendors are encouraged to wear something “sparkly” to commemorate the 10th year. “We have a new band this year. It will be Love Train,” Reeves said. “It will be a lot of fun and dancing.” Romness said Love Train will provide three hours of dance music. Last year, the Lincoln Showcase had 850 attendees, according to Reeves. “To me, Showcase is the opportunity for people to get together and have fun with peers and business associates, and maybe make some new friends,” Reeves said. Vendors can also benefit from the event, Reeves said. “It’s a way for them to promote their business, especially some of the newer restaurants. If people haven’t heard of them, they can try and see how much they like them, and then go there to eat.” Reeves said Showcase also benefits the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce by funding and supporting events such as the Downtown Farmers’ Market, Shoppers Expo, Holiday Parade and Independence Day Parade. “For us, it’s to promote businesses and members, helping them help their business,” Reeves said. Lincoln businesses included in this year’s Showcase will be Knee Deep Brewing Company, Wise Villa Winery, High Steaks Steak House, Casa Ramos, Awful Annie’s and Kim’s Country Kitchen. Something new this year will be a raffle, according to Romness, and the prizes include $500 in cash, two cases of wine or a night’s stay at Thunder Valley Resort. “Showcase is the chamber’s biggest fundraiser of the year, besides being Lincoln’s biggest and best party,” Romness said.
