A rain delay on Wednesday did nothing to slow down the Lincoln varsity baseball team as the Fighting Zebras routed visiting Foothill 14-2 Thursday.

Lincoln retained their perfect season and improved to 3-0 in Pioneer Valley League competition.

The Zebras all but sealed the game with an 11-run second inning. Lincoln sent up 13 batters in the inning, scoring on five hits and four base-on-balls.

Isaiah Garcia led all batters with a 2-for-3 performance, scoring a run and driving in six.

In his second at bat, Garcia came up with the bases loaded and one out. A hard line drive to right center cleared the bases and landed the shortstop at third base.

Later that inning, Garcia drove in two runs, but was called out at second base to end the inning.

Chris Rodriguez went 2-2 with two runs batted in. The outfielder scored after drawing a second inning walk.

As a team, the Zebras had 10 hits and six base-on-balls.

Ben Lewis got the win with three shutout innings. He allowed three hits and collected four strikeouts.

Lincoln will now hit the road for a Friday (March 22) night matchup against Placer at 7 p.m.
