Lincoln Rotary supports Roseville grad

-A +A
Crystal Frost, who graduated from Roseville High School in June, recently celebrated that milestone with family and friends in Lincoln. What makes her story special is the make-up of those friends. Lincoln Rotary members met Frost two years ago when she was in the county’s “At Risk Teens” program, according to Lincoln Rotary’s director of club services Claire Luke. Rotary Club members, working weekly with the program, helped Frost set goals and encouraged her to keep working toward those goals. “Two very special people in the Lincoln Rotary were Larry and Nancy Whitaker,” Luke said. “They became friendly with Crystal’s family.” Frost, 18, is appreciative of Rotary’s efforts. “The Whitakers became the grandparents I never knew and they encouraged me every step of the way,” Frost said. “I never would have graduated without the support of Lincoln Rotary and especially Nancy and Larry Whitaker. I owe them so much.” Frost is now a Sierra College student and eventually wants to join the United States Air Force or the Navy. For more information, visit rotary.lincal.com. ~ Staff report
