With a 10-0 shutout of the visiting El Dorado Cougars Thursday, the Lincoln varsity baseball team improved to 4-0 on the young season.

In a five innings of work, Julio Martinez kept the Cougars off the board with a three-hit, four-strikeout performance. With four walks and a hit batter, Martinez allowed extra runners to get on base throughout the game. But Lincoln's defense was sound, turning two double plays and throwing out a runner to end the second inning.

The Zebras’ offense came alive in the first inning and didn’t cease until the 10-run rule was applied after five innings of play.

Kody Kencke, Isaiah Garcia, Jordan Stone, and Dane Stimbert each had a multi-hit performance. On the night, Lincoln collected 12 hits and four base-on-balls.

Chris Rodrigues showed off his power with a 2-run home run in the fourth inning, as the Zebras ran away in the fifth inning.

Lincoln will play one more non-league game on their schedule, when they host Casa Roble on March 12.
