Lincoln must win at Colfax to complete perfect PVL season

Lincoln High’s varsity football team has a chance to finish the Pioneer Valley League season 10-0 with a win at Colfax on Friday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. The Zebras have not beaten Colfax since 1994 when they won 24-0. Lincoln is 0-12 against the Falcons since Tony Martello took over the Colfax program in 1996. Colfax, 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the PVL this year, leads the all-time series against Lincoln 28-15-1. Colfax has beaten Bear River (31-30), Mesa Verde (24-13) and El Dorado (49-20) in league play and lost to Whitney (35-7) and Placer (34-27). The Falcons have non-league victories over Center (28-7), Union Mine (31-21) and Highlands (31-14) and a loss to Truckee (34-7). Lincoln has taken down Whitney (21-14), Mesa Verde (41-0), El Dorado (42-7), Placer (13-6) and Bear River (29-15) in league play and Woodland (19-7), Wheatland (28-21), Brookside Christian of Stockton (55-20) and Marysville (35-0) in non-league this season.
