Lincoln linksters shooting lights out in preseason

The Lincoln High boys golf team continued its excellent shooting to cruise past River Valley and shoot a team best 203 to knot Nevada Union. The Fighting Zebras No. 1 player Kenny Bills lived up to his billing by firing a 37 over the Lincoln Hills Orchard Course to help lead his club to a 203-203 tie with the powerful Miners, Monday. Bills got solid support from teammates Trever Wilson (38), Matt Shirley (40), Chris Ordonio (42) and Brandon Harrigan (46). Lincoln travels to Nevada Union today for a 3 p.m. rematch with the Miners at Alta Sierra Country Club. Lincoln 205, River Valley 248 _ Shirley shot a career best 36 to help the Zebras ground the Falcons in a preseason match at Lincoln Hills, March 1. The sharpshooting sophomore got terrific backup from his fellow players Bills (39), Wilson (42), Harrigan (42), Ordonio (46) and Gavin Ralphs’ 47 as the Zebras continue to improve with each match. Lincoln will open Pioneer Valley League play at Lake of the Pines against Bear River.
