Lincoln hosts last cross country league meet; subsections next
The Lincoln High cross country team placed third in the varsity girls division and fourth in the boys to close out the final Pioneer Valley League meet at Twelve Bridges last week.
Lincoln’s Abi Lund was named All League and finished 10th in the competition in a time of 21:53 over the 3-mile course. Coming in 17th and 18th were Haley Higgins (22:42) and Kali Federwisch (22:49).
Rounding out the Fighting Zebras were Alex Ceja (26th, 23:34), Kelsi Snook (31st, 24:15) and Savannah Berkley (33rd, 25:03).
The boys were led by Dylan Toerpe, who covered the distance in 19:18 for the 21st spot. Crossing at 23rd, 26th and 29th were Pascual Marquez (19:34), Sean Gage (19:43) and Uriah Smith (20:13).
Also helping to set the pace were Bryant Garcia (31st, 20:21), Jacob Edwards (32nd, 20:30) and Logan Balentine (49th, 23:17).
The freshman and sophomore boys placed second behind Placer. They were led by Evan Deatherage who finished sixth in a time of 11:06.
Helping to keep the Zebras’ pace were Aaron Jackson (11th, 11:48), Daniel Hagge (14th, 12:07), Brian Ackerson (18th, 13:12) and William Barker (19th, 13:27).
The Lincoln girls were one runner short of a team but were led by a third-place finish from Megan Snook. She covered the 1.75 miles in 12:58.
Trailing her for the Zebras were Annika Lehenbauer (9th, 13:41), Kelsy Prentice (13th, 14:11), Lauren Gage (17th, 15:44).
The CIF Sac-Joaquin Subsections are this Saturday at Frogtown, Angels Camp.
