Lincoln holds on to defeat Foothill in last home game
On Wednesday night, the Lincoln varsity boys basketball team fought through a shooting slump in the second half to defeat Foothill 56-50. The Fighting Zebras hit on less than 10 percent of their shots from the floor in the final 16 minutes.
Marcus Salgado led the Zebras in scoring with 17. In the second half, Salgado’s free-throw shooting proved crucial. The junior was 10-for-12 at the line.
The victory helped improve Lincoln’s Pioneer Valley League record to 7-1 and put them in control of their own destiny.
Colfax, 6-2 in league, defeated Center Wednesday 49-46. That put the Zebras and Falcons on a possible path to a title match Feb. 12 in Colfax.
Lincoln must now take on Placer in Auburn this Friday. The Hillmen are the only team to have beaten the Zebras in PVL play.
