Lincoln Hills Coyotes continue winning ways

The Lincoln Hills Coyotes 60s Blue, 60s Black, and 70s Coyotes senior softball recently took two out of three tournaments losing only one game between them along the way. Coyotes 60s Blue _ The club dominated the Penn Valley Tournament to win their second tournament victory of the year. Going undefeated in five games, Coyotes 60s Blue averaged 22 runs a game, and compiled a .680 team batting average. Contributing to that average was Brock Dagg’s .875, along with home runs from Bruce Chappell, Jim Jones, and Randy Dvorak. Pitching for the Blue was Nick Eterovich, who picked up four wins; Dale Stephens collected the victory. Sterling defense was demonstrated by Dale Hurlbut and John Dambrosio. Coyotes 60s Black _ Lincoln Hills’ other 60s club also bruised the competition winning the Hayward Tournament, placing fifth out of 11 teams in the Reno Tournament, and grabbing second place in Penn Valley’s tournament. Black averaged 20 runs a game, belted 12 home runs and 16 triples, and didn’t lose a game in Hayward on their way to the championship. The slugging leaders were Steve Lambert, Carlos Zavala, and Bob Fernandez. The Penn Valley effort was highlighted by great defense with notable performances by Ed Lazerak and John Moran. Black plays in Tuolumne this weekend. Coyotes 70s _ Hosting their own invitational tournament this past weekend, the local nine took on clubs from Sacramento, Fresno, and Hayward. The Coyotes battled their way into the championship tilt against the Nor Cal Renegades, but were unable to come away with the top trophy. They Coyotes 70s will travel to Woodland in July for the Western Nationals.
