Lincoln grad now playing for SEC champion Florida
Lincoln High 2010 graduate Stephanie Tofft is now playing for the Southeastern Conference regular-season champion University of Florida Gators.
In the opening game against South Carolina May 3, Tofft turned in 10 assists at third base to help the Gators shut out the Gamecocks 5-0. Florida went on to win the second game of the series before dropping their season finale 2-1.
The Orange-and-Blue will enter the SEC Tournament in Lexington, Ky. as the No. 1 seed May 8-11. Should Florida advance to the Regional Tournament, check the listings on ESPN Television for broadcast of a Gators’ game.
While with the Fighting Zebras, Tofft hit a remarkable .624 her senior year with five home runs, five triples and nine doubles to her credit. She had a .934 fielding percentage and an earned run average of .95 as a pitcher and had 15 wins that season.
