Lincoln High's varsity girls basketball team went 0-2 last week to close its season. The Zebras, who finished 9-18 overall and 2-10 in Pioneer Valley League play, ended the year with a 48-20 loss to visiting El Dorado on Friday. El Dorado led 26-10 at halftime and 45-14 after three quarters. It was similar to the first meeting between the two teams, when El Dorado beat the Zebras 49-26. Lincoln played at Mesa Verde two days earlier in an attempt to go 3-0 against the Mavericks this season. It wasn't meant to be though as the third time was the charm for the Mavericks. Mesa Verde, which had lost 47-35 and 42-35 at Lincoln earlier this year, beat the Zebras 47-43 this time. Lincoln outscored Mesa Verde 27-18 in the second half but it couldn't complete the comeback. Lincoln senior post player Kathleen Krilanovich led the Zebras with 12 points. She was one of four seniors for the Zebras as Brianna Koller, Charlene Avila and Adriana Gomez also closed out their high-school careers last week. Lincoln sophomore Julia Lathrop had six points while junior Rebecca Moreno scored five against Mesa Verde. Mesa Verde finished the season 4-20 overall and 2-10 in the PVL, with the other league victory coming by forfeit. Although the Zebras didn't do as well as they would have hoped this season they still improved on last year's record of 3-26 overall and 1-11 in the PVL. Last year's league win came by way of forfeit while one of Lincoln's league wins this season also was by forfeit.
