Lincoln city manager’s salary on par with L.A. county managers’ salaries

The Los Angeles Times recently conducted a survey of city manager compensation in Los Angeles County in connection with the Bell, Calif. compensation controversy. Interesting enough, their survey found that the average city manager compensation in Los Angeles County was about $210,000. Compare this to what Lincoln’s City Manger Jim Estep currently makes and one can make their own conclusion as to whether Lincoln’s compensation policy is out of whack. This is just one example of fiscal mismanagement. The residents are asked to bail out the city by passing the utility tax. It would be logical that if the city is strapped for money, the council would invoke an austerity program that affects compensation and benefits for the city employees. Jack I Orlove Sr., Lincoln
