Lincoln All Stars off to a good start

The Lincoln All Stars in each division were holding their own, with the 9-10 All Stars and Majors All Stars still undefeated as of Monday’s 4th of July break. Lincoln Little League is hosting the Majors Area 1 All Stars Tournament this year, which began Friday. Rocklin All Stars defeated Tri-City All Stars in the first game, but lost to Lincoln All Stars in their second game. Lincoln defeated the Rocklin All Stars, 11-6, Saturday night in the second round of the District 11 tournament held at McBean Park. The Lincoln 12-year-olds, who had drawn a bye for the first round of the double-elimination tournament, out slugged a tough Rocklin team that had edged Tri-City 2-1 in the night before. Rocklin tapped starting pitcher Zach Lowe for two runs in the top of the first inning, but Lincoln answered with seven runs in the bottom of the inning; the score was never close after that. Alex Isola led the offensive attack, going 4-for-4 with a double, home run, and three runs batted in. Alex Rose contributed a bases-loaded triple, and Eli Garcia doubled in two more. Keith Walker led Rocklin's hitters with a walk, two singles, and a double. Lincoln defeated Auburn 15-3, Tuesday, to advance to the championship game undefeated. The championship game is 7 p.m., Thursday. As of this report Lincoln’s 9-10 All Stars defeated both Rocklin’s (15-9) and Auburn’s (13-3) all stars and was scheduled to play Tri-City All Stars Tuesday night. The 10-11 All Stars lost to Rocklin (4-3) and defeated Bear River (14-4) and were scheduled to face Rocklin All Stars again on Tuesday. Lincoln’s Juniors were beaten by Auburn and were on tap to play Bear River on Tuesday.
