Library book sale moves thousands of books

-A +A
Thank you, Lincolnites, for your bags and boxes of donations, for buying books and for helping with the book sale at the Twelve Bridges Library this past weekend. Hours of volunteer time were given to sort and shelve books for the sale. Thank you, volunteers! This sale was the easiest sale the Friends have ever worked as the entire sale rolled out on wheeled carts. Volunteers came to wheel out and straighten books, they came to be cashiers and to keep books upright on shelves. Lincolnites came to browse and buy books on Friday and Saturday, then they returned on Sunday to buy a bag of books for $1. Seventy-one bags/boxes were purchased Sunday, which amounted to almost 1,000 books picked out on that day alone. In the past, the Friends have had two sales a year, May and October. The Friends added a January sale. More sales are planned for whenever there are enough books donated for a sale. Donations are appreciated and may be brought to the back door (staff entrance) of the Twelve Bridges Library. Please ring the bell for assistance on the days the library is open. Daily sales shelves are stocked at both the Carnegie and the Twelve Bridges Libraries. The shelves are looking sparse presently, as new donations are needed.
