Today, we will do a northern Lincoln loop to the airport.

Begin the ride at Beerman Plaza.

Go right on Fifth Street one block to Lincoln Boulevard and cross the railroad tracks to H St. Then go right on H Street to Ninth Street, which becomes Nicolaus as you come behind the high school.

Ride along Nicolaus to Joiner Parkway and turn right on Joiner past the townhouses to the entrance of Foskett Regional Park. Turn right and proceed past the soccer fields to the baseball complex and around to Foskett Elementary School and go straight west, which is Venture Drive.

Ride along Venture Drive past the warehouses to Aviation Drive and make a left turn. Go on Aviation to Nicolaus and turn left. Proceed back toward downtown to Joiner. Right on Joiner to Fifth Street and turn left. Keep going on Fifth all the way back to Beerman Plaza.

This ride circling the northern part of Lincoln is approximately 7.5 miles. There are bike lanes along most of the way.

Of special interest is the beautiful Foskett Regional Park. Many sporting tournaments are held there during the year and you may want to stop and see some baseball or soccer being played.

In a following article, we will take some more interesting rides around Lincoln and the foothills to the east and north of town.

Until next time, enjoy the thrill of biking and keep safe out there.
