The Lincoln Knights of Columbus Council recently donated a $2,100 check to Ride-To-Walk.
The nonprofit Ride to Walk is a therapeutic horseback-riding program founded 25 years ago in the area.
The program is designed for children and young adults in Placer and surrounding counties with neurological disabilities such as autism, brain injuries, strokes, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, muscular dystrophy and spinal-cord injuries.
Ride to Walk’s stables and arena are located on 21 acres at 1630 Highway 193 in Lincoln.
The $2,100 check represents proceeds from the Knights of Columbus’ annual fund drive.
Each year, Knights of Columbus councils across the country participate in this initiative, which is commonly known as the Toostie Roll Drive.
Locally, Knights of Columbus members, their families and friends distributed candy outside the Raley’s and Safeway supermarkets and solicited contributions.
