Knights of Columbus thanks parish, community

-A +A

The Knights of Columbus wishes to thank the entire St. Joseph Parish and Lincoln communities for their generous support of our fourth annual crab feed, as this is a fundraiser for our many charitable works, which include a free Thanksgiving dinner the Sunday before Thanksgiving, children’s Christmas and Easter parties, supporting Lincoln youth sports teams, scholarship to a graduating senior, supporting three seminarians in their studies to become ordained ministers, supporting those with mental deficiencies, donating wheelchairs to the disabled, and the list goes on.

In this bad economic year, we still had a crowd of some 360 people. We also had a generous supply of workers who donated their time and talent to make this event a success. One patron commented that they “attend many crab feeds each year and that this has been the best crab feed that they have ever attended.”

That makes us all feel good, knowing that we provided a “quality event,” making your evening a memorable one.

There was also a raffle. Congratulations to our raffle winners who were Bill Kassel ($500), Dave Koppin ($400), Estella Rabara ($300), Imelda Ruiz ($200) and Donald Kearns ($100).

All diners also received a “Diner Reward” certificate for $2 off next year’s crab feed admission.

The next crab feed will be on Jan. 9, 2010. The admission price next year will be the same as this year: $42 each if purchased individually, $40 each if purchased with a table of 12, $38 each if purchased with a table of 24; $36 each if purchased with a table of 36.

Again, the Knights of Columbus thanks everyone who supported our fourth annual crab feed, with either attendance or purchase of raffle tickets (or both).

We hope to see you next year on Saturday, Jan. 9.
