Kitten Central donations help other nonprofits

-A +A

We would like to thank the residents of Lincoln for helping with our bake, yard and candle sales this year.

We are Kitten Central of Placer County. Our mission: to lower euthanasia rates by in taking from Animal Rescues their orphaned, sick or injured kittens. Provide safe, loving foster homes. Medical services, including vaccines, parasite control, blood tests, arrange spay and neuter and microchip. Then return them to their sponsoring rescue for a healthy adoption to a permanent home.

This year, we saved 305 kittens from this community and surrounding areas.  Since this is our first year, all of this has been done by fundraising and private donations.

We currently service 10 animal rescues so donated dollars not only benefit us but also benefit Auburn Area Animal Rescue Foundation, Angels Rescuing Kritters, Kits and Kats Rescue, Happy Tails, Friends Forever, Paws Pet Rescue, Placer County Animal Services, Humane Society of the Sierra Foothills, A New Hope Foundation and Animal Spay & Neuter Clinic in Auburn.

Before the tax laws change and before year’s end, could you make a donation to our little nonprofit?  Since we just finished our first year, we can now start applying for grants but those take a few months.  You can see more about us at KittenCentralofPlacerCounty.com. We have 25 foster families and will expand to 30 in the spring.  We are all volunteer at this time and do all of our work out of our foster coordinator’s home.

For those of you wanting to give back in your community, we (and the kitties) can sure use your help.  Annually or monthly.  Our mailing address is 5130 Fruitvale Road, Newcastle, CA 95658. Nonprofit Number 45 4060879.  You can also find us on Facebook.

Thank you.

Penny Dougherty, Board of Directors, Newcastle
