Keep the arts alive in this city

-A +A
It was sad to hear the news of Lincoln Arts closing and the end of a 24-year run of Feats of Clay; both were vital in bringing art and culture to the Lincoln area. Feats of Clay and the tours at Gladding McBean were so much more than just a wonderful art show. If you had the chance and took the tour of the factory at Gladding McBean, you saw the history and heard the stories of the great clay factory that has been here for over 135 years. So much more than pipe or tiles, the factory produces amazing sculptures that adorn some of the oldest buildings in our country. Feats of Clay tours also brought people to the historic downtown Lincoln area, contributing to our economy. I understand a group of dedicated supporters are working to keep the arts alive in Lincoln, and as the owner of an art gallery that has been in Lincoln for over 20 years, I support their efforts wholeheartedly. I encourage other art supporters to get on board with the new organization - and keep the arts alive in Lincoln. Tom Jones, Sierra Hills Framing, Lincoln
