Fun Run nets $20,000 for Twelve Bridges Elementary

-A +A
More than $20,000 was raised recently at the Twelve Bridges Elementary School Fun Run. Sponsored by the Parent Teacher Club, the fundraising event was enjoyed by more than 700 students in 30 classes. Challenged with how many laps could be done in 20 minutes, kindergarteners through fifth graders walked, jogged or ran around the 1/8th mile “Tiger Paw” track. You could hear the shrieks of kindergartners as Principal Jeremy Lyche made the announcement – “on your mark, get set, go”. The event could not be complete without “the Tiger” (aka Jack Johnston) there from the beginning to the end, tirelessly going through the stretching exercises, giving high fives and shouting words of encouragement to all the participants. Funds raised will help provide new technology for Twelve Bridges Elementary classrooms. ~ Staff report
