The Friends of the Library group is hosting a book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Willow Community Room at the Twelve Bridges Library, 485 Twelve Bridges Drive. The book sale is unique in that a number of books are from an older collection at the Carnegie Library. All the books that had been stored as “will-call” books have been checked for addition to the present collection. Those that are not accepted have been given to the Friends for the sale. In addition, the library at Kilaga Springs and people from Lincoln and surrounding communities have donated boxes of books. Most hardbacks will list at 25-50 cents and paperback books will be 25 cents. Fiction books will be in the Willow Room while the nonfiction books will be on carts in the rotunda. The hardbound non-fiction books will be 50 cents. There will be special carts that will hold books listed at various prices from $1 to $5. There are two sets of World Books, a set of Winston Churchill’s volumes and two sets of the four-volume Abraham Lincoln books. There are poetry books, plays, books on writing, spiritual books, art and photography books. There are two boxes of Zane Gray books and a few other Westerns. There are books on carpentry, history, travel, self-help, exercise, law, home and garden, needlecrafts, beading, children’s books and more. Also on sale will be green library/shopping bags for $2. At 3 p.m., a paper bag of books may be purchased for $1. Remember that both libraries have books for sale daily. Help is needed to move books and set up the sale at 5 p.m. the day before the sale. Stop by either library for fingerprint papers. The fingerprints are free to volunteers and are offered on Thursdays and Saturdays. Your help is needed. If you have need for books that are left from the sale, call Shirley at 645-3470 to make arrangements to take the books after the sale.
