Fire Log for the Week Ending Sept. 26 The Lincoln Fire Department responded to 44 calls for service during the week ending Sept. 26. The incident totals and types included: 33 Emergency Medical Service calls 1 Fire Call – Including a restroom fire 3 Hazardous Condition – Including three natural-gas leaks 1 Public Assist 4 Good Intents 2 False Alarms The Lincoln Fire Department was dispatched to three hazardous condition calls. All three calls were a smell of natural gas coming from a stove area. When firefighters arrived, they shut off the gas to the house and opened all the windows and doors to provide ventilation. PG&E was contacted and advised of the situation. Firefighters were able to assist PG&E. There was no property damage. The Lincoln Fire Department was also dispatched to a bathroom fire. When firefighters arrived, the reporting party told them he saw smoke coming from inside as he walked by the bathrooms. The man was able to use a nearby water source and extinguished the fire. Firefighters checked the bathroom and found a plastic trash bin melted to the ground with obvious scorch marks on a nearby wall. The Firefighters contacted the Lincoln Police Department and Public Works about the situation. Firefighters were able to contain the fire but not before there was more than $2,000 in damage.
