FBI raids mobile home
By: Brandon Darnell, News Messenger Reporter
About 12 to 15 FBI agents with weapons drawn surrounded a residence at the Sunset Villa Mobile Home Park at 6:30 Friday morning, according to neighbors. The agents, according to Steve Dupre, spokesman for the FBI’s Sacramento Field Office, were executing a search warrant. “That’s standard protocol no matter what kind of case it is,” Dupre said. “It’s a law enforcement safety measure when executing a search warrant.” Dupre said he could not discuss the nature of the search warrant, but could only confirm that the FBI was there on legitimate business. The nature of the case will only be revealed if charges are filed, and that “could be weeks, it could be months, it could be years,” Dupre said. A man and a woman live in the residence, according to Tim Olesen, who lives nearby. “He just goes in and out,” Oleson said. “I never see him do anything. He never causes any problems.” Oleson added that the man – who was speaking with agents Friday – doesn’t talk to any of the neighbors. Steve Jones, another nearby resident, said much the same. “I’ve seen him sitting on the porch,” Jones said. “He doesn’t talk or come out.” Lincoln police were on-scene as well, but did not participate in the investigation.
