Farmers’ Market continues Wednesdays at Lincoln Hills
By: Billie Jean Salle Special to The News Messenger
Farmers’ Market update
The Thursday Night Farmers Market ended last week. The nights are getting darker earlier and, with school in session, it is harder to fit the market into your schedule. The problem is Mother Nature is still growing strong. You know about zucchini, it never stops! So we have to keep marketing too. We have a very nice Farmers’ Market from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesdays in Lincoln Hills at 965 Orchard Creek Lane. It’s a young market but going strong. Most of the farmers you saw on Thursday night also participate in the Wednesday market. Remember the zucchini? This market has it all - tomatoes, fruits, vegetables, flowers, bread and eggs. The market is open to the public and has plenty of parking. The advantage of a morning market is the cooler temperature. The flowers are less stressed and there will be happy, perky leafy greens as well. Sierra Fresh Farmers Market would like to thank Lincoln for your support of the Thursday market. Without you, we wouldn’t be here. We have enjoyed our relationships with you and will miss the many friends we have made on Thursdays. We thank the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to work with them and for making this all possible. Many volunteer hours went into this event and the effort has not gone unnoticed. We thank you all. This has been a very successful year and we are proud that you voted us “The Best of The BEST!” in The News Messenger contest. Thank you, again. Billie Jean Salle is Sierra Fresh Certified Farmers’ Market manager. Salle runs the Sun City Lincoln Hills Farmers’ Market from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesdays.
