District 3 seniors close out regular season this weekend

The California High School Rodeo Association District 3 cowboys and cowgirls will be riding hard this weekend to see who makes it to the State Finals in Bishop later this spring. GIRLS Pole Bending _ Alix Carpenter has a 53-point lead over Taylor Biglow, who leads Faith Stewart by one, 113-112. Brooke Niederhause is fourth (104) and Kay Cochran fifth (91). Barrel Racing _ Rachel Bertram has a five-point lead over Angelina Carrion, 143-138. Third is Cierra McClure (113), fourth Jennifer Oakham (110) and Coral Alberi fifth (96). Breakaway Roping _ Katie Rice has a 62.5-point lead over Madison Horton, who leads Cheyanne Carpenter by nine and a half, 118.5-109. Fourth is Annie Rose Seifert (83) and fifth Hannah Briggs (82). Goat Tying _ Rice leads Kay Cochran by 47, 207-160. Third is Seifert (155), fourth Cheyanne Carpenter (134.5) and fifth Alyssa Warnke (96.5). Cutting _ Biglow leads Cheyanne Carpenter by one and a half points, 191-189.5. Third is Rice (181), fourth Briggs (155.5) and Janelle Oakham fifth (139). BOYS Bareback Bronc _ Colton Onyette leads by 117 over Clayton Biglow, 147-30. Onyette and Biglow are the only contestants. Saddle Bronc _ Clayton Brum leads Onyette by 100, 100-0. They are the only two contestants. Bull Riding _ Robert Braiser caught Colby Demo by picking up 27 points on his last ride and is tied with Demo, 91-91. Third is Tyler Stueve (87), fourth Brum (38) and fifth Lance Baker (19). Steer Wrestling _ Jaed Hare has an 83-point lead over Riley Jackson, 149-66. Third is Luke Pfister (54) and fourth Jesse Clark (53). Tie Down Roping _ Brum has a 17-point lead on Seth Bowling, 167-150. Third is C.J.Beauregard (144), fourth Jackson (121) and Hare (115) fifth. Cutting _ Jordan Sparrowk has a 33.5-point lead over Chase Bisby, 227-193.5. Third is Brum (173), fourth Biglow (84.5) and fifth Mason Mardesich (14). TEAM ROPING Header _ Jordan Sparrowk leads Cheyanne Carpenter by three, 142-139. Third is Brum (114), fourth Mardesich (102) and fifth Warnke (99). Heeler _ Bowling leads Jackson by three points, 142-139. Third is Tyler Gibbs (116), fourth Pfister (102) and fifth Clark (99). The action begins around 8 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday with a delicious barbecue snack bar open both days. A special tribute will be paid to the district’s graduating seniors and the varsity awards ceremony follows Sunday’s finals.
