The Justice Committee of Placer People of Faith Together would like to invite you to a community education forum, “Rethinking Criminal Justice in Placer County.”
Criminal justice is a big issue in Placer County. We have a new jail that’s about to open and no decision has been made about what to do with the old one.
In addition, the AB 109 realignment has changed criminal justice throughout the state, sending non-serious felons to county jail instead of to prison.
How are we going to deal with this change and wean our state from its expensive addiction to longer prison sentences as the only response to crime?
Please encourage your friends to attend our forum. Speakers will include our new jail commander, Wayne Woo; and Chief Probation Officer Marshall Hopper.
