Coyotes runners up in Yuba City Tourney

Rally gives Renegades the title

The Lincoln Hills Coyotes 70s club took the NorCal Renegades down to the wire before giving up the runs the Renegades needed to capture the Yuba City Tournament last weekend. In a run differential format, the Coyotes had to defeat the NorCal team by nine runs, but were unable to quell a 10-run rally in the Renegades’ final at bat. The game went to Lincoln Hills, but the championship went to the Renegades. The Coyotes didn’t disappoint at the plate as Pete Savoia hit .824, and drove in 10 runs. Gym Mikaelsen averaged .786, and 1.714 slugging by crushing two home runs and two triples while bringing home 12 runners. Larry Manley hit .769, John Wible. 765, 1.059 slugging, and 14 runs-batted-in, and John Parks hammered a grand slam on his way to 16 RBI and a slugging average of 1.125. The 70s Coyotes head for Lodi this weekend for a tournament. Blues _ The 60s Coyotes also garnered a second-place finish going 4-1 in the tournament. E-mail News Messenger Sports at
