Coyote 65s sweep Fair Oaks in senior softball

The Lincoln Hills Coyote 65s, a senior softball team, swept the visiting Fair Oaks Saints in a doubleheader on June 17 at Del Webb Field. Lincoln’s Jim Sandin pitched both games, giving up nine runs combined. Bob Hunter was a defensive leader for the Coyotes. The Coyotes, 8-8 in Sierra League competition, will play at Placerville in a doubleheader today. The Coyote 70s went 1-4 at a tournament in Elk Grove over the weekend. Bill Bigone (.900 batting average), John Wible (.833), Ed Sorensen (.818, 10 RBI), John Parks (.813) and Bob Hunter (grand slam, 10 RBI) led the offense. Sun City Classics Lincoln’s Sun City Classic 70s team split a doubleheader with Placerville on Friday. Lincoln dropped game one 17-4 before bouncing back to win the second game 11-7. Lincoln’s Ron Morin and Dave Ramm homered for the Classics in the fourth inning.
