Coyote 60s blue team goes 4-1 at Lodi tourney

The Lincoln Hills Coyote 60s blue, a senior softball team, went 4-1 at a tournament in Lodi over the weekend. The only loss was 13-12 to the eventual champions. Lincoln batted .699 as a team. Lincoln’s Coyote 60s black went 1-4 in Chico over the weekend. J.R. Jackson and Mike Schmidt led the Lincoln offense. The 60s black, undefeated in Sierra League play, will play the Coyote 65s at Del Webb Field in Lincoln at 9:30 a.m. today. Sun City Classics Lincoln’s Sun City Classics swept host Lodi in a doubleheader on Friday in the 70s division. Lincoln won Game 1 10-9 and took Game 2 17-12. Lincoln’s Al Sanders was the winning pitcher in the opener and he was a defensive star in the outfield in the second game. Teammate Dave Ramm was the winning pitcher in the second game. Outfielder Bud Conner and infielder George Wilson led the Lincoln defense in the second game. The Classics (7-3 in league play) will play a doubleheader in Sacramento on Friday.
