Council makes different statements to businesses and public

Just a quick comment about the article with the Lincoln City Council (Oct. 14 News Messenger, front page, “Area’s future rests with business owners. City wants stores to take ownership) saying that they have nothing to do with what businesses come into Lincoln ... The old Rainbow Market has been vacant for two years on the main street of Lincoln and I and several of my neighbors thought it would be a great place for a "Dollar Tree" store so that folks wouldn’t have to drive or take a bus to Roseville. I contacted the corporate headquarters and was told that they had tried to lease the building several times but the City Council blocked them, saying that they did not want that "type" of store in Lincoln. I find it amazing that the City Council is telling the public one thing and business people another. Sherry Reese, Sheridan
