Junior forward Mathilde Bosgiraud scored the winning goal with 10 minutes remaining Saturday, lifting the Colfax High girls soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Roseville in the Lincoln Tournament’s championship game. The tournament title was the second the Falcons have captured in as many weeks. The Falcons improved to 7-0-1 on the season with the win. They also posted a pair of shutouts on Friday, beating McClatchy of Sacramento 1-0 and Golden Sierra 5-0. “We’ve scored 20 goals in the preseason and haven’t given up a goal yet,” Colfax coach Steve Robinson said. “We’re playing really well for this early in the preseason.” Senior goalkeeper Amber Cramer made at least four saves during the tournament against shots “that, in normal circles, would have gone into the back of the goal,” Robinson said. Ashley Tobiasz scored three goals in the tournament, including the game-winner against McClatchy. Fellow senior midfielder Faith James assisted on Bosgiraud’s goal against Roseville. Robinson also praised his team’s three captains — senior defender Ashley Broussard, senior midfielder Kelly Johnston and sophomore defender Kate Bianchi — for the leadership they’ve provided on the field this season. Colfax will host Forest Lake Christian on Tuesday.
