Clayfest is back May 19

Since Lincoln Arts closed its doors in February, Lincoln citizens have been busy forming a new art group. This new group is called Art League of Lincoln or ALL. They have let no grass grow under their feet. The first event they will have is the California Clayfest on May 19 in Beerman Plaza. There will be 25 booths full of art for show and for sale. Many artists are local and some will come from other northern California communities. There will be a variety of art to enjoy. Several clay artists will demonstrate all things clay all day long. Ray Gonzales, Ron Peetz, Jean Cross and many others will be throwing pots, carving pipes from Gladding McBean and doing some raku firing right there in the plaza as seen in past years. You will see art in action. Kids Clay Camp will return, sponsored by the Lincoln Rotary Club. Surrounding the plaza will be all the wonderful food and live music from the International Food Festival. The arts have returned and everyone is invited to spend the day downtown on May 19. Andy McMurtrie, Lincoln
