Choir show May 16 and May 21
With their New York trip in the beginning of April to perform at Carnegie Hall and now, Thursday, May 16 will be the choir’s annual Spring Concert at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln High School theater. The choir will be performing songs that they performed on the prestigious stage of Carnegie Hall, among others.
Cindy Hagman, Lincoln High School choir director, shares her thoughts on how the overall year has gone saying, “2012-13 has been an extraordinary year; beginning at Carnegie Fest in October followed by our performance at the State Capital and at Sun City during the Christmas Season. We won the Command Performance award at the Wheatland Choral Festival. And we of course sang on the most prestigious stage in America - Carnegie Hall!”
Hagman continues with how proud she is of her students by stating, “This group of choir students is very special! Our spring and solo concerts are going to be a fitting way to end a most amazing year. Thanks for the ride!”
The Lincoln High School choir will be holding their Solo Concert on Tuesday, May 21 in the Lincoln High School theatre. The Solo Concert is a chance for students to choose a song on their own, learn it and then perform it. It gives the seniors a chance to say goodbye and the freshman a way to say hello.
The choir is looking forward to performing the songs that they have worked so hard on learning for the past few months and sharing them with everyone. It will be the seniors’ last time singing on this stage with the high school and with the high school’s director, Cindy Hagman. It’s an emotional concert for some, exciting for others, enjoyed by all.
