Chamber to host annual Golf Fore Grads tourney

The Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce and the Western Placer Unified School District have formed a partnership to give out scholarships to Lincoln and Phoenix High School students. On July 16, the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its 11th annual Golf Fore Grads tournament at the Turkey Creek Golf Club, 1525 State Highway 193. What?s different this year is the Chamber and the Western Placer Unified School District have partnered to provide educational scholarships to Lincoln?s future leaders. Two of the first sponsors are PG&E and the city of Lincoln. The 2008 Tournament Committee Chairman is Steve Paul of Allstate and the Co-Chair is district Superinten-dent Scott Leaman. Sponsors are being sought at the following levels: Title $5,000; Lunch $2,500; Trophy $1,500; Breakfast $1,250; Corporate $1,000; Associate Corporate $500; Hole Sponsor $200. Registration is $125 per player or $500 for a four-person scramble. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. culminating with lunch, awards and prizes to be given out to tournament guests. Guests have a chance to win a brand-new 2009 Honda Pilot, courtesy of Jay Cooper of Auburn Honda in the Hole in One Shot.
