Cancer hits all ages

Carol, thank you for your kind words re Linda (Page A4, Feb. 10 News Messenger, “Get a mammogram for you and your family). All women need to understand that the arbitrary 40 years old before a mammogram is advised is not true. I’ve sat next to a 25-year-old woman in our chemo class. Linda and I talked to her briefly after the class. I told her that she is awfully young to have breast cancer. Her response was that “the doctor told me, Cancer knows no age!” Women reading this, pay attention, get your mammograms, be sure. Men reading this, talk to your wives about it, ask them about it, take them to their appointment, whatever, but make sure they get one. John Bush, Lincoln
