Cameras to watch over Lincoln High, Glen Edwards campuses
By: Staff report
Students returned to classes at two local schools to some new campus monitors. The Western Placer Unified School District approved the installation of security cameras at two schools in Lincoln. Surveillance Systems Integration of Rocklin has been working with the district administration in implementing security video as a deterrent for tagging, vandalism and unauthorized visitors to the campus. Lincoln High School and Glen Edwards Middle School, which are separated by only one city block, have both been fitted with 11 Arecont Mega Pixel cameras around the campus entrances, hallways and high traffic areas. “One of the greatest advantages to this system and the decision to install now is that the district has taken great steps in being proactive with their campuses and not reactive,” said Sandy Wheatley, consultant with Surveillance System Integration. “That can make all the difference.” S.S.I is a security integrator with headquarters in Rocklin and a sales office in Las Vegas.
