It looks like historic downtown Lincoln will once again be home to a microbrewer, but this time the beer will actually be brewed on site. On Tuesday, Lincoln’s City Council agreed to loan $100,000 in redevelopment agency funds to Buonarroti Ristorante owners Kathy and Daniel Alcantaro for the expansion of their 460 G St. eatery. Additions will include a small-scale microbrewery, full bar, separate wine bar and new banquet room. “It’s been under construction for a few months now,” Kathy Alcantaro said on Wednesday. “We thought it would be a nice enhancement to the restaurant.” Completion is approximately 45-60 days away, she said. “It opens up all kinds of opportunities for us in terms of events,” Alcantaro said. “We’re going to have a lot more wine tastings and wine dinners. In the future, we’re thinking about having a celebrity night where well-known residents of Lincoln come bartend for us.” Alcantaro said the microbrewery will likely offer two beers and the wine bar will feature mostly local, but also South American and Italian, varietals. Former Lincoln restaurant Beermann’s also served its own beers, but they were brewed at a separate facility in Roseville.
