Books in the Courtyard exceeds expectations

-A +A
The seventh annual Friends of the Lincoln Library’s free book give-away to local children is recording the highest number attendees in the history of the program. Last week marked the fourth week of the program with 2,776 books given out. An additional 275 books were presented to children participating in the Ask Me a Question program presented and sponsored by the Friends of the Library and supported by a 2008 grant from the Community Foundation of Lincoln, the Woman’s Club of Lincoln, the Native Daughters and the Native Sons of the Golden West. This program is an arm of the Stories of Lincoln project. The fourth week total for books stands at 3,051 books. Today’s count will raise that total. The program is supported by membership in the Friends of the Library, local grants and donations from local groups and individuals. If you would like to support the program, please send a check to Friends of the Lincoln Library, P.O. Box 394, Lincoln CA 95648. Thank you Lincolnites for supporting literature for our kids.
