Benefit concert at oldest Lincoln church

Mark your calendars and plan to join us in a celebration of the 122-year-old Lincoln historical landmark church, the Lincoln United Methodist Church. The concert will be a musical “Restoration Recital” featuring Broadway melodies to be given at the Lincoln United Methodist Church on Sunday, Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. located at 629 I St. Proceeds will benefit a fund for upkeep of this historical treasure of the Lincoln community. Featured soloists are Barbara Byllesby, Jody Douglas, Carol Silva, Mona Stryker, Herb Pickell, Bill Sveglini and Bryce McAnally. This Lincoln church was build during 1890 in gothic revival style and is known for its 37 unique historical stained-glass windows. Founding father Peter Ahart paid for all the stained glass. He is a cousin of Roberta Babcock of Lincoln. Roberta is also a longtime member of this church. Tickets can be purchased through the church office and are a $10 donation per person.
