Ray Johnston, lead pastor at Bayside Covenant Church of Granite Bay, will be giving a lecture “ Taking the Unchanging Gospel to a Changing World “ from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday at William Jessup University. The founding pastor of Bayside Church, which has 11,000 members and is one of the largest and fastest-growing churches in America, Johnston is a leading player in the changing world of church life in the 21st century. Bayside Church is known not only for evangelism and discipleship, but also for social action both domestically and abroad. Last year, Bayside raised more than $100,000 to be used for refurbishing school properties in the Sacramento City School District. Bayside has also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to purchase and ship medicine to AIDS victims in Africa. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a perspective on the future of the Christian movement in North America from one of its most visionary leaders.
