Auburn Racquet Club to introduce scholarship

The Auburn Racquet Club is introducing a $2,000 college scholarship
available to high school juniors and seniors in Auburn.
The scholarship is designed to introduce the benefits of health and fitness
over a six-month period to junior and senior applicants. Selected applicants
will get a complimentary health club membership at Auburn Racquet and
Fitness Club. The participants will write a 2,000-word essay describing
those benefits and how the individual will share them with the community.
The program begins Dec. 1 with a scholarship application process. Interested
applicants will be interviewed to determine eligibility. The applicant and a
parent or guardian must be in attendance for the interview process.

Sierra Foothills LL registration under way
Registration is open for Sierra Foothills Little League baseball for the
2011 spring season.
There will be a registration session Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 at Weimar Hills
School and another Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sierra Hills School.
The final registration date is Jan. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Colfax
Pizza. Players who are new to the league must provide proof of residency and
a birth certificate.
Team managers and umpires are required to attend a no-cost clinic for the
upcoming season. Session 2 will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at
Weimar Hills School and Dec. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sierra Hills
School in Room 5.

Rugby club registration open
Registration is under way for the Sierra Foothills Rugby Club. The club has teams from under-10 to high school age. There is a high school girls team and a Division III men’s team. The final clinic and team barbecue will be held Dec. 11.
