The second game at the District 11, Area 1 9-10 All Stars Tournament in Lincoln at first appeared that it would be a real battle between Rocklin and Auburn but it would only last until the third inning. Rocklin managed to scrape out a 1-0 lead in the second when Auburn errors allowed Miles Hughes to score a run but that was only the beginning. After Auburn went quietly in the bottom half of the second, Rocklin refused to do so in the top half of the third. Rocklin loaded the bases three times and pushed across 12 decisive runs to go up 13-0. Auburn?s pitching simply broke down as the club gave up four bases on balls, hit one batter, surrendered four singles and a double and the defense committed two errors in the third inning alone. Fans had to give the Auburn players credit as they never stopped playing and finished the game as if they trailed by only a run. The game ended in the fourth inning with Rocklin up 19-0. Auburn will now try to stave off elimination against Bear River Tuesday at 5 p.m. Bear River comes in at 0-1 also having lost to Tri-City. Rocklin plays again July 5 against the winner of the Tri-City and Lincoln contest scheduled for 7:30 Tuesday.
