The Woman’s Club was founded by Carrie Gladding and her friends in 1911. Andre Bellows Services from Applegate just installed a brand new air conditioning system in our 94-year-old clubhouse, which is on the state’s and National Register of Historical Places.
We have architectural drawings and a permit from the city to build an American Disabilities Act- approved ramp on the side of our building. We’re waiting on a contractor. (The building is at 499 E St. on the corner of 5th Street.)
Saturday is our third annual Home and Garden Tour to raise funds for our ADA projects. Two houses downtown, two homes in Monte Azul, and a farmhouse on Twin Ponds Road are featured. Tickets are $30 and include refreshments, vendors and opportunities to win prizes. We are 88 members strong.
The Woman’s Club is a proud member of the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Lincoln Association. Hope to see you Saturday.
