Downtown Lincoln Association will sponsor and moderate a Lincoln City Council Candidate Forum, open to the public, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Beermann’s Restaurant.
This candidate forum is the first one that the nonprofit Downtown Lincoln Association has sponsored, according to member Joann Hilton.
“The Downtown Lincoln Association is glad to provide a candidate forum for all the candidates for Lincoln City Council,” said Downtown Lincoln Association President Wayne Sisneroz. “We are anxious to hear each candidate’s plans for how they will encourage improvements for new and existing business owners in our city. We hope all the business owners and anyone interested in downtown will attend.”
Thursday’s forum is a “downtown centric question-and-answer session with all six candidates, according to organizers.
“It is open to the public and we really hope to see our members, the downtown merchants, take the opportunity to attend and hear how they might be supported by the different candidates,” Hilton said.
RSVPs are not needed.
The forum will be upstairs at Beermann's, located at 645 5th St.
Lincoln City Council candidates include incumbents Peter Gilbert, Paul Joiner and Spencer Short. The other three candidates are Dan Karleskint, Brandy Waters and Holly Woods Andreatta.
